What I have been reading lately. Mainly textbooks, but for a paper I'm writing I'm reading a lot about Henry VIII. Woo is his family life complicated. What I have read for fun lately. Right now I am re-reading the Divergent series, and then I will move onto the Mortal instruments series. Great series by the way guys! Both of these series are well written. A series I hold dear to my heart are the ones I started in high school and still keep up with. Vampire Academy is such a good series, way better than twilight. Give it a try! Morganville vampires is another one. I still

A book about forgiving oneself and letting others in

The Bride Who Wore Blue by Mona Hodgson is an amazingly inspiring book about forgiving yourself and letting go of the fact that you don't have control of every aspect of your life. Vivian Sinclair is the youngest of four sisters finally being able to reunite with her sisters. Vivian is coming from Maine to Colorado with some weight on her shoulders. Vivian tries to take care of herself, she doesn't want to be a burden to her sisters. It is very hard for to find a job. Vivian has no plans to be married after her broken courtship in Maine. Then she meet Carter Alwyn the sheriff of the town, and they try to resist liking each other but their plans are not God's plan. As a last resort Vivian becomes a hostess at a saloon with some big problems ahead for her. I really enjoyed this book while I read it. I liked that it portrayed that while we want to control our lives sometimes it is just better for us to take a step back and let God have control and let Him take care of us. When we let go and give God the reins in our life then we will be able to let others in our life.

Someday My Prince Will Come

Ok so when I first saw this book's title it took me back to Walt Disney's Snow White when she is singing Someday My Prince Will Come. I love that that Sheri Rose Shepherd catches your attention with the title! So her book My Prince Will Come is about preparing ourselves for when Jesus  comes back to earth, and that we have to be preparing daily for His return! Sheri also brings up that we are princesses to a king. The One True King that is. This book is so inspiring for me. Sheri also brings up the things she has had happened in her life, like her eating disorder, her relationship with her mom. I love that she personalizes it. I would definitely recommend reading this book. It is one my must read again books!

A Fierce Beauty

In  Fierce Beauty by Kim Meeder has a desire to show what God has done in her life since her parents death when she was nine. Her stories caught my attention by the visuals of her experiences in life and how it can apply in our lives too and she does a good  job of her point. Her parents death led way to trials and she worked through the trials with God's help. Kim points out how true beauty isn't how you look, but how you live. Women have been told from a young age that how we look is important then what is on the inside. She encourages us to to see that our true value is defined by God. Real beauty is how we live and the actions in our lives. I loved reading how God has worked in her life and how He has helped Kim overcome her parent's death. Her stories inspired me to delve into more what God has planned for me in my life and to see His value in me.

A Romance with a Little Suspense and a lot of Drama

Indelible by Kristen Heitzmann is a  suspense book with a little romance in its. Set in the Rocky Mountains there is a sculptor whose name is Natalie Reeve. Natalie Reeve's special talent for her sculpting is that she has an eidetic  (photographic) memory, so when she is doing a sculpture of a person she can remember every detail of the person's face, and that when sculpts tat God would see she sculpts the person how God sees them. Trevor MacDaniel is a former Olympian skier owns an outfitter store. Trevor has a rough past, his younger brother died and his dad left when Trevor when he was little. To add to this there is a stalker, previous relationship issues and more. In this book there was a lot of drama and it made for a confusing read. If Kristen had focused on maybe  two of these points it would have been a better read. I do not recommend to read this book.

The Harvest of Grace

The Harvest of Grace by Cindy Woodsmall is a heart warming story of Sylvia Fisher and her life in the Amish community. In this story Sylvia is betrayed by the man courting her as he decides that he won't marry her anymore. She desires to leave because the girl he decides to marry is her younger sister and soon Sylvia leaves. She finds a farm that needs her help to restore it to what it used to be and then the Blank's son Aaron comes to convince his father to leave the farm. This inspirational story shows forgiveness in many ways and how hard that it can be to forgive someone. It also shows God's love for us and how that everywhere we go He is there. Cindy Woodsmall does an amazing job at making you feel like you're in the story and one of the characters. Do the Blank's decide to leave? Does Sylvia find peace? Is there forgiveness found?
